Feet Treats

As S has mentioned before, I've never been worn much jewelry. I will admire a brooch or embellished cuff for days, but never could quite fit them into my own aesthetic. I tend to lean towards one, or two (if I'm feeling cheeky) pieces that pop. Shoes are the dessert of choice as of late. J and I were craving some good LA Mexican food before catching a show at The Improv and before we left, I couldn't help but find our feet in some yummy dressings. I find those two red stripes below particularly delicious. Check out J's socks. Pretty sweet.

Ways of the West

I've landed in dear California, frolicking around in some of my tried and true favorites. Like all good things, mason jars full of dried flowers, weekly g+ meetings, lattes with almond milk and stevia--why change them if they are still good? The pulse and heat of Los Angeles is strong though. I'm excited to see how it seeps into my sartorial skin. S, I may or may not have bought a jade green tank top from a skate store that has the grim reaper on it...

Diplomacy

M and I often joke about our opposing fashion choices.
She'll be in a simple black dress while I usually opt
for embellished whites. This was exemplified in our last
trip together in DC. I love a dress that I can live in
and always feel cute in, and this little white definitely
fits the bill.

2605 Miles Apart

As of last week, M and I have descended upon our new lives in
LA and Boston, respectively. Michelle to pursue her sun-filled
education aspirations, and I to attend graduate school. Our paths
have led us apart, but our sartorial and design interests bond us
together indefinitely. And of course - New York will always be
there as our common ground. Here's to everything we learned in
past five years.

Hopelessly bicoastal

California charms me, sorry Mr. New York. Took my little wings and flew out there for thanksgiving break, delighting in bare legs, sheer fabrics, and daily beach walks on Santa Barbara sand. The faded pastels of California frame my New York blacks, reds, and cerulean blues more gently than Brooklyn wood and brick, like black and red licorice in a bowl of jordan almonds.

Because 22nd can still feel like your 16th

I went for Wednesday Adams mid-summer on the boardwalk with this TopShop number. Some of the petals did fall of the daisy patch back...he loves me...he loves me not. S had just returned from Colorado with a lovely little feather in her hair. Pumpkin cupcakes, gin and grapefruit--there are few things better than the glow from birthday wishes and bestie friend kisses.

Curious at the Tribeca Grand

Sometimes Sunday nights out prove far more interesting than usual. Perhaps our camera couldn't capture the true champagne giggles of this evening, but we were supporting our friend's new non-profit--a group to support young urban artists. Luckily, our choice of latex studded gloves and geometric jewelry were quite fitting for the philanthropic crowd.

Whites

I'll admit, I have a bit of an obsession with all white backgrounds speckled with off-whites
and pale pinks. Above, my shabby chic bedside table I haggled over at the Brooklyn Flea,
and French Connection dress.  The top photo demonstrates a dulled white palate that
conjures words like romantic and quiet, and then the dress conjures crisp and stark,
like a well-ironed white button-down.  Amazing how versatile whites can be.
